Science experiments – Heat transfer

Fifth and Sixth class pupils are currently studying how heat is transferred from one place to another by three methods: conduction in solids, convection of fluids (liquids or gases) and radiation.

We completed two experiments. The first one was to help us understand what convection is all about and in the second one we tested the process of conduction and we melted some chocolate on the end of a nail.

Some experiments can be messy, but we love that and Mrs. Mythen does too!
