Save our Pollinators

As part of Creative Ireland Programme in Laois, Third and Fourth Class pupils have been busy writing poems themed on pollinators. We have learnt lots about the importance of pollinators by studying and discussing the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan. We found lots of information by visiting www.biodiversityireland.ie

Did you know that most pollination in Ireland is carried out by bees? Unfortunately, pollinators are in trouble. We learned that one third of Irish bee species are threatened with extinction.

We really want to help pollinators by planting pollinator-friendly flowers and by planting fruit and vegetables for the pollinators too.

Hope you enjoy reading our poems.
